How do I find out what I missed if I'm absent? Each class will have a secretary who will record notes and assignments. He or she will also put your name on any handout you missed or give you a pass to come take a quiz you missed by a specific day. You can quietly get that info from the secretary at the start of class. If you have further questions, you can come ask me after class. Get a phone number from someone in the class you can call to find out what you missed. Make use of my email to ask questions or to send me assignments.

What advice would you give a person who is planning to go to college about getting ready for the SAT's or ACT's?The SAT and the ACT, the two main tests that you take and submit to a college, test different skills. Regardless of which test your college requires, it's a good idea for you to brush up on solving analogies and building your vocabulary. I want you to know you have become academically competent for college since more than eighty percent of Hastings students apply to go on to further education. Most schools start asking for your test results during your junior year when you apply. I would recommend that you start visiting http://www.number2.com every day for some free tutoring in preparation. I would also recommend that you read and write as much as possible since much of what you do in college will require good skills in those areas. Think while you read. Just reading something to get through it does not help
you as much as it could if your mind is awake. Be proactive about learning.
This is the time set apart for you to get an education for free. Take full
advantage of the work and preparation and suffering others have done so that you
could have this opportunity. Back to Top
